Brett A. Reber is the firm’s business and transactional law resource. Brett maintained his firm affiliation while serving as General Counsel to firm client Equity Bank in Wichita, Kansas. He grew up in Ellsworth, Kansas, and received a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Kansas in 1983 and his law degree from the University of Tulsa College of Law in 1986. While at the law school, Brett was a member of Delta Theta Phi and served as managing editor of the Energy Law Journal.
Following law school, Brett served as a law clerk to United States District Court Judge Thomas R. Brett in the Northern District of Oklahoma.
He has been active in bar association activities and has served as the President of the Kansas Bar Association Young Lawyers Section. Brett is a Fellow of the Kansas Bar Foundation and American Bar Foundation. He is a member of the American, Kansas, and Oklahoma Bar Associations, and the Kansas Association of Defense Counsel.
Brett is active in state and local community affairs. He is a trustee of the Julia J. Mingenback Foundation, the St. Stephen’s of Kansas Charitable Trust, and Director and past President of the McPherson Industrial Development Company locally, and former Chairman and Director of the Kansas Development Finance Authority and Kansas Housing Resources Council in Topeka, Kansas.
Brett currently serves on the national Board of Directors for Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever, as well as the corporate boards of Farmers Alliance Mutual Insurance Company and The Bradbury Company.
His primary practice is providing advice to business and corporate clients with emphasis and experience in contracts, business acquisitions, and litigation matters.
